SPEAKER LAUDS ABIA YOUTH AND SPORTS COMMISSIONER





The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly,Rt
 Honourable Chinedum Orji,has commended the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development,Chief Emeka George Ikwuagwu, for his vibrancy  and resourcefulness in piloting the affairs of his ministry.

Rt Hon Orji wko made the commendation when Chief Ikwuagwu led a delegation from the Youth and Sports Ministry to pay him a courtesy visit said Chief Ikwuagwu was serving Government with burning passion and commitment adding that with his like in other endeavours, the Ikpeazu administration will achieve even more.
The speaker urged the Commissioner not to relent in his good work adding that he would do all within his power to support him to  actualize his laudable programmes for Abia youths.

Chief Ikwuagwu whose entourage for the courtesy visit included the House Committee Chairman on Sports, Hon Emmanuel Ndubuisi,the chairman of Governor's Cup committee,Sir P. C Mba, Chairmen of Ikpeazu Pre Season Football Tournament committee, Mr Ugochukwu Anosike Dauda,the State Director of Sports,Sir Isaac O Isaac, leadership of the state Youth Parliament and representative of the Female Under 21 inter local government football competition told the speaker that Governor Ikpeazu has been very magnanimous in approving the programmes of his ministry while Her Excellency, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu has been very supportive.

He described Abia youths as focused and productive hence the ministry of Youth and Sports Development is committed to organising programmes that will engage the youths meaningfully.

He solicited for the support of the speaker and entire House of Assembly  to enable the Ministry achieve its goals.

Sports Journalists In Aba Honor Finidi George in Post-Afcon Reception.

Members of the Aba Sports Journalists Forum(ASJ)  came out in their numbers to a dinner, to welcome and honour Ex-international and  Super Eagles assistant coach, Finidi George after the exploits of the Super Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoir. The dinner which was hosted by Finidi George, who is also Enyimba's coach had journalists from different media outlets asking Finidi questions about his AFCON experiences, the Super Eagles, Enyimba and his time as a player and other questions on his experience as coach of the current NPFL Champions.  It was a moment to relax, learn and hear from the legend who has won the AFCON Gold, Silver and Bronze medal as player and coach.  The former Ajax winger would be in charge of his first game at Enyimba since returning from the AFCON when Enyimba host Gombe United on Thursday afternoon.

Lagos State FA Chairman Congratulates Manu Garba On His Appointment As Golden Eaglets Coach

  Lagos State Football Association Chairman, Hajji Liameed Olawale Gafar, has congratulated Manu Garba, on his appointment as the new head coach of the Nigeria U17 national football team, the Golden Eaglets.  Manu Garba's first tenure as Eaglets Manager saw him handling footballers such as Taiwo Awoniyi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Isaac  Success, Francis Uzoho, Chidiebere Nwakali and Musa Muhammed to victory at the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup.   According to Hajji Gafar, he believes that this experience makes Manu Garba the ideal candidate to lead the Golden Eaglets to new heights. The coach who returns for his third stint with the team has been saddled with the responsibility of leading the current crop of players to next month's WAFU B U17 Championship which serves as qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations.
