Leicester records an emphatic win over Leeds

Youri Tielemans struck twice as Leicester recorded an emphatic win at Leeds to move to within a point of Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Jamie Vardy was involved in the Foxes' first three goals - teeing up Harvey Barnes within two minutes for the opener after a costly mistake by Robin Koch.

Tielemans netted Leicester's second - pouncing on a rebound from Vardy's diving header - before Stuart Dallas' cross flew all the way into the net for Leeds after half-time.

But Leeds' response in the second half was stumped as Vardy netted a third for Leicester before Tielemans scored from the spot in stoppage time.

Marcelo Bielsa's side - without record-signing Rodrigo, forced to self-isolate after coming into contact with somebody who tested positive for coronavirus - were made to pay for a sloppy first half.

Patrick Bamford had headed it tamely into Kasper Schmeichel's arms seconds before Barnes' early opener and Pablo Hernandez struck the post in the second half.

But the Foxes killed the game off late on to pick up their fourth win in a row.

Sports Journalists In Aba Honor Finidi George in Post-Afcon Reception.

Members of the Aba Sports Journalists Forum(ASJ)  came out in their numbers to a dinner, to welcome and honour Ex-international and  Super Eagles assistant coach, Finidi George after the exploits of the Super Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoir. The dinner which was hosted by Finidi George, who is also Enyimba's coach had journalists from different media outlets asking Finidi questions about his AFCON experiences, the Super Eagles, Enyimba and his time as a player and other questions on his experience as coach of the current NPFL Champions.  It was a moment to relax, learn and hear from the legend who has won the AFCON Gold, Silver and Bronze medal as player and coach.  The former Ajax winger would be in charge of his first game at Enyimba since returning from the AFCON when Enyimba host Gombe United on Thursday afternoon.

Lagos State FA Chairman Congratulates Manu Garba On His Appointment As Golden Eaglets Coach

  Lagos State Football Association Chairman, Hajji Liameed Olawale Gafar, has congratulated Manu Garba, on his appointment as the new head coach of the Nigeria U17 national football team, the Golden Eaglets.  Manu Garba's first tenure as Eaglets Manager saw him handling footballers such as Taiwo Awoniyi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Isaac  Success, Francis Uzoho, Chidiebere Nwakali and Musa Muhammed to victory at the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup.   According to Hajji Gafar, he believes that this experience makes Manu Garba the ideal candidate to lead the Golden Eaglets to new heights. The coach who returns for his third stint with the team has been saddled with the responsibility of leading the current crop of players to next month's WAFU B U17 Championship which serves as qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations.
