Bayelsa United zoom to Governor Wike Pre Season Tournament final

Bayelsa United zoomed to the final of the 2020 Governor Wike Pre Season Tournament final following a 2-0 victory over Lobi Stars in the semi final on Saturday afternoon.

The Restoration Boys weren't fancied to beat the Pride of Benue but they won courtesy of Christian Mizo's first half brace at Sharks Stadium.

Bayelsa United showed their early intent when Bernard Okorowanta was denied by Atsaka Daniel.

The Tiebowei Diprieye managed side didn't have to wait any longer when they drew the first blood in the 11th minute.

Okardi Inukurogha's low strike fell to Martins Favour, who smashed the ball at the goalkeeper from close range. Christian Mizo was there, though, to strike it home home.

With six minutes left in the first stanza, it was 2-0. Christian Mizo lobbed the onrushing Daniel to double the lead for the Restoration Boys. Okorowanta accounted for the assist.

The Restoration Boys will lock horns against the winner from the other  semi-final tie between MFM FC and Rivers United.
