Enyimba FC and Abia Warriors Go For Broke At The Final of the governor Ikpeazu Pre-season Tournament

Enyimba, Abia Warriors to slug it out at  Governor Ikpeazu Pre Season Tournament Final 

Enyimba International will battle fellow Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Abia  Warriors in the finals of the Governor Ikpeazu Pre-season tournament. 

In the  first semi-final match , Enyimba relied on a 69th strike from Cyril Olisema to defeat Plateau United 1-0.
In a match the People's elephants dominated  almost completely.


In The second semi-final match Avia Warriors managed by coach Willy Udube (because Coach Imama Hardly stays At the dugout during  the Tournament so far)   dumped out A&A 3-1 while the People's Elephants pipped Plateau United 1-0.

Paul Samson put Warriors ahead with a cool finish in the 10th minute of the game.

Lanky striker Tekena Garando doubled the lead before halftime.

The second half was even for both teams as they displayed best of football artistry to the amusement of Aba fans.

As the second half clock thicked away, Nnamdi Anthony reduced the deficit for the Academy boys.

The A&A bench charged their boys to get the leveller and Bello Lukman then scored the goal that broke the camel's back with a 75th minute strike.

The final match on paper appears to be a dream final as both teams are clearly the best teams of the competition and both will be renewing their rivalry after the incident that happened in Umuahia during a league fixture in February.


The final will be held on Saturday by 3 pm at the Enyimba International Stadium ABA.

Sports Journalists In Aba Honor Finidi George in Post-Afcon Reception.

Members of the Aba Sports Journalists Forum(ASJ)  came out in their numbers to a dinner, to welcome and honour Ex-international and  Super Eagles assistant coach, Finidi George after the exploits of the Super Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoir. The dinner which was hosted by Finidi George, who is also Enyimba's coach had journalists from different media outlets asking Finidi questions about his AFCON experiences, the Super Eagles, Enyimba and his time as a player and other questions on his experience as coach of the current NPFL Champions.  It was a moment to relax, learn and hear from the legend who has won the AFCON Gold, Silver and Bronze medal as player and coach.  The former Ajax winger would be in charge of his first game at Enyimba since returning from the AFCON when Enyimba host Gombe United on Thursday afternoon.

Lagos State FA Chairman Congratulates Manu Garba On His Appointment As Golden Eaglets Coach

  Lagos State Football Association Chairman, Hajji Liameed Olawale Gafar, has congratulated Manu Garba, on his appointment as the new head coach of the Nigeria U17 national football team, the Golden Eaglets.  Manu Garba's first tenure as Eaglets Manager saw him handling footballers such as Taiwo Awoniyi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Isaac  Success, Francis Uzoho, Chidiebere Nwakali and Musa Muhammed to victory at the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup.   According to Hajji Gafar, he believes that this experience makes Manu Garba the ideal candidate to lead the Golden Eaglets to new heights. The coach who returns for his third stint with the team has been saddled with the responsibility of leading the current crop of players to next month's WAFU B U17 Championship which serves as qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations.
