Uchenna Kanu scores in Linkopings first win of the season

Super Falcons forward, Uchenna Kanu scored her first goal of the 2021 Swedish Damallsvenskan to give  Linkopings a 1-2 away win over AIK on Saturday.


This was  Linkopings second league game of the season after last week’s 0-1 home defeat to Rosengard and jt saw Uchenna Kanu scoring the opening goal of the game in the ninth minute at the Skytteholms IP (Solna).


Seven minutes later, AIK equalised through Jenny Danielsson.



The winning goal  for Linkopings Fc  was scored by Frida Leonhardsen-Maanum in the 43rd minute.


Uchenna played from.start to finish in the game. She teamed up with Linkopings Fc from Sevilla a team in the Spanish Women Primera Division in 2020 and scored eight goals in 22 league games last season.


She also scored three goals in the Svenska Cupen this season.


Linkopings occupied the fifth position on the Swedish Damallsvenskan table with three points in two games.



Up next for Linkopings is a game at home to Pitea on May 2, 2021 at the Arena Linkopings.

Sports Journalists In Aba Honor Finidi George in Post-Afcon Reception.

Members of the Aba Sports Journalists Forum(ASJ)  came out in their numbers to a dinner, to welcome and honour Ex-international and  Super Eagles assistant coach, Finidi George after the exploits of the Super Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoir. The dinner which was hosted by Finidi George, who is also Enyimba's coach had journalists from different media outlets asking Finidi questions about his AFCON experiences, the Super Eagles, Enyimba and his time as a player and other questions on his experience as coach of the current NPFL Champions.  It was a moment to relax, learn and hear from the legend who has won the AFCON Gold, Silver and Bronze medal as player and coach.  The former Ajax winger would be in charge of his first game at Enyimba since returning from the AFCON when Enyimba host Gombe United on Thursday afternoon.

Lagos State FA Chairman Congratulates Manu Garba On His Appointment As Golden Eaglets Coach

  Lagos State Football Association Chairman, Hajji Liameed Olawale Gafar, has congratulated Manu Garba, on his appointment as the new head coach of the Nigeria U17 national football team, the Golden Eaglets.  Manu Garba's first tenure as Eaglets Manager saw him handling footballers such as Taiwo Awoniyi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Isaac  Success, Francis Uzoho, Chidiebere Nwakali and Musa Muhammed to victory at the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup.   According to Hajji Gafar, he believes that this experience makes Manu Garba the ideal candidate to lead the Golden Eaglets to new heights. The coach who returns for his third stint with the team has been saddled with the responsibility of leading the current crop of players to next month's WAFU B U17 Championship which serves as qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations.
