Senator Orji Uzor Kalu promises to take back Abia warriors from Abia state Government

Former Governor of Abia State Orji Uzor Kalu who's now senator representing Abia North in the Nigeria's National Assembly has stated emphatically that he is ready to take over the management of Abia Warriors Fc of Umuahia.

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu confirmed that the club belongs to him and was registered under his names as Oji Uzor Kalu (OUK) FC before the Abia state Government took over the operations of the club and re-named it as Abia Warriors FC.

"Abia Warriors was my personal club but when I left office, Abia state Government took over the club."
He stressed that present economic and security situation in the country has impeded in the take over bid.

"The club was called Orji Uzor Kalu babes, it is difficult now in this hard time and security problem to put a new club".

In an exclusive interview on NSM reloaded social media platform, Dr Kalu opined that the club will be a model side like Enyimba FC of Aba.

"That bad experience made to start preparing to take back the club and put that club where it is supposed to be when I get back to Abia." He stated.

Under Orji Uzor Kalu's stewardship as Abia State Governor from 1999 to 2007, Enyimba International FC became the first Nigerian Club to win the CAF Champions League back-to-back in 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 seasons.
