Warri Wolves Clash with Enyimba International in NPFL Pre Season Friendly


Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, campaigners, Warri Wolves, will clash with former league and CAF Champions, Enyimba International of Aba, in a blockbuster Pre Season friendly game at the Delta State Polytechnic Stadium in Ozoro on Friday, December 18, 2020.

This is contained in a club statement signed by the club's Chief Executive Officer, Etu Moses.

The statement says the Seasiders will use the warm up encounter to finetune some of the gains recorded in the club's preparations for the 2020/2021 NPFL season.

It describes Enyimba - the Peoples' Elephants - as a traditional and quality side in domestic football in Nigeria, noting their recent exploits across the two-legged match against Rahimo FC of Burkina Faso in the CAF Champions' League.

The oil city club were recently involved heavily in the 2020 Governor Dapo Abiodun Pre Season Soccer Tournament in Ijebu-Ode.

Kickoff time for the friendly is 3pm.

Sports Journalists In Aba Honor Finidi George in Post-Afcon Reception.

Members of the Aba Sports Journalists Forum(ASJ)  came out in their numbers to a dinner, to welcome and honour Ex-international and  Super Eagles assistant coach, Finidi George after the exploits of the Super Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoir. The dinner which was hosted by Finidi George, who is also Enyimba's coach had journalists from different media outlets asking Finidi questions about his AFCON experiences, the Super Eagles, Enyimba and his time as a player and other questions on his experience as coach of the current NPFL Champions.  It was a moment to relax, learn and hear from the legend who has won the AFCON Gold, Silver and Bronze medal as player and coach.  The former Ajax winger would be in charge of his first game at Enyimba since returning from the AFCON when Enyimba host Gombe United on Thursday afternoon.

Lagos State FA Chairman Congratulates Manu Garba On His Appointment As Golden Eaglets Coach

  Lagos State Football Association Chairman, Hajji Liameed Olawale Gafar, has congratulated Manu Garba, on his appointment as the new head coach of the Nigeria U17 national football team, the Golden Eaglets.  Manu Garba's first tenure as Eaglets Manager saw him handling footballers such as Taiwo Awoniyi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Isaac  Success, Francis Uzoho, Chidiebere Nwakali and Musa Muhammed to victory at the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup.   According to Hajji Gafar, he believes that this experience makes Manu Garba the ideal candidate to lead the Golden Eaglets to new heights. The coach who returns for his third stint with the team has been saddled with the responsibility of leading the current crop of players to next month's WAFU B U17 Championship which serves as qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations.
