Pastor Gives University Scholarship To Over 2000 Students.


An Abuja based pastor, yesterday Sunday 16th January 2022, gave out university scholarship to over 2000 students in Aba, Abia State.
  Pastor Akachi Nwoke, the lead pastor of The Afternoon Church said the vision was birthed as an undergraduate at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri on the backdrop of his exclusion from the exam hall for his inability to pay his fees on time. 
 Speaking at the event, the Pastor said ' Ever since I was chased out of that hall 12 years ago because I delayed in paying my fees in FUTO, I have not seized to find means to make sure that everyone that wants to go to school can go to school'.
The scholarship is into Emerald University in Benin republic, Tansian University in Anambra and Dorben Polytechnic in Abuja. 
 Pastor Akachi asides the scholarship project has other projects like The Free Hospital in Aba and Owerri, The Free Restaurant, The Free School (a basic education program for over 3000 children from nursery to secondary school level), The Undergraduate learn and earn program which pays students even as they go to school.

Sports Journalists In Aba Honor Finidi George in Post-Afcon Reception.

Members of the Aba Sports Journalists Forum(ASJ)  came out in their numbers to a dinner, to welcome and honour Ex-international and  Super Eagles assistant coach, Finidi George after the exploits of the Super Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoir. The dinner which was hosted by Finidi George, who is also Enyimba's coach had journalists from different media outlets asking Finidi questions about his AFCON experiences, the Super Eagles, Enyimba and his time as a player and other questions on his experience as coach of the current NPFL Champions.  It was a moment to relax, learn and hear from the legend who has won the AFCON Gold, Silver and Bronze medal as player and coach.  The former Ajax winger would be in charge of his first game at Enyimba since returning from the AFCON when Enyimba host Gombe United on Thursday afternoon.

Lagos State FA Chairman Congratulates Manu Garba On His Appointment As Golden Eaglets Coach

  Lagos State Football Association Chairman, Hajji Liameed Olawale Gafar, has congratulated Manu Garba, on his appointment as the new head coach of the Nigeria U17 national football team, the Golden Eaglets.  Manu Garba's first tenure as Eaglets Manager saw him handling footballers such as Taiwo Awoniyi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Isaac  Success, Francis Uzoho, Chidiebere Nwakali and Musa Muhammed to victory at the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup.   According to Hajji Gafar, he believes that this experience makes Manu Garba the ideal candidate to lead the Golden Eaglets to new heights. The coach who returns for his third stint with the team has been saddled with the responsibility of leading the current crop of players to next month's WAFU B U17 Championship which serves as qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations.
