AFCON 2021: Super Eagles Supporters Club commences preparation to cheer Super Eagles to glory in Cameroon

Super Eagles Supporters Club (SESC) has began preparations in earnest on how to cheer the nation's men senior national team to glory ahead of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON.

The AFCON is scheduled to take place between 9th January to 6th February, 2022. 

The first phase of the preparations began in Abuja on Thursday, 27th May 2021 with the unveiling of National President of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Alhaji (Dr) Musa Muhammed as National Patron of SESC. 

Alhaji Muhammed commended the SESC’s giant stride in cheering National teams to victory in every international tournaments while assuring the support of his led RTEAN to club in their future engagements.

He said, “I want to commend  SESC for giving me this award and for identifying with RTEAN, we will decide at our executive level and get back to the SESC to ensure that they continue to do the good work they are doing in cheering out national teams to victories".

He however, hinted that each Chapters of RTEAN in Nigeria will come together to support the club towards achieving her goal. 

“I identify with SESC because whenever the Super Eagles are playing, Nigeria will keep away their differences and support the National Team. 

"If time permits me, I will join you in cheering the Super Eagles to victory come 2021 AFCON in Cameroon,” he said.

Meanwhile, President of the Super Eagles Supporters Club Prince Vincent Okumagba, said the club is on the right part with Muhammed coming on board as his role in ensuring there is peace and unity in the country, was key in his  selection. 

"This is a giant stride for the Super Eagles Supporters Club, "early preparation they say prevent poor performance", hence the need to start the preparations for AFCON 2021 now. 

"We have no doubt with the structure and RTEAN on ground, we will have great support for the Super Eagles at the Tournament".

It will be recalled, the Super Eagles Supporters Club set up Zonal Coordinators for the creation of more Chapters across the Country with Football as a unifying tool to foster Unity amongst the States.
