Celebrating a Milestone: Over 120 Students Graduate from The Afternoon Church's Scholarship Program




Yesterday, September 1st, was a momentous day at The Afternoon Church in Aba, as Pastor Akachi and the Free School Foundation witnessed the graduation of over 120 students from their scholarship program. This remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone in the church's commitment to empowering young minds and transforming lives through education.



The Free School Foundation, under the leadership of Pastor Akachi Nwoke has been dedicated to providing educational support to underprivileged students in the community. Through their scholarship program, they have bridged the gap for many young individuals, offering them a chance to pursue their academic dreams.


The graduation ceremony was a joyous celebration of the students' hard work and perseverance. Pastor Akachi, along with other dignitaries, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of education in shaping the future of our society. The graduates were awarded certificates, and some were even offered further scholarships to pursue higher education.




The ceremony was also graced by the presence of the Special Adviser on Youth Development to the Governor of Abia State. The SA commended The Afternoon Church and the Free School Foundation for their remarkable efforts in supporting the education of young people in the state. He assured the foundation of the government's support and commitment to partnering with them to empower more youths through education.

Sports Journalists In Aba Honor Finidi George in Post-Afcon Reception.

Members of the Aba Sports Journalists Forum(ASJ)  came out in their numbers to a dinner, to welcome and honour Ex-international and  Super Eagles assistant coach, Finidi George after the exploits of the Super Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoir. The dinner which was hosted by Finidi George, who is also Enyimba's coach had journalists from different media outlets asking Finidi questions about his AFCON experiences, the Super Eagles, Enyimba and his time as a player and other questions on his experience as coach of the current NPFL Champions.  It was a moment to relax, learn and hear from the legend who has won the AFCON Gold, Silver and Bronze medal as player and coach.  The former Ajax winger would be in charge of his first game at Enyimba since returning from the AFCON when Enyimba host Gombe United on Thursday afternoon.

Lagos State FA Chairman Congratulates Manu Garba On His Appointment As Golden Eaglets Coach

  Lagos State Football Association Chairman, Hajji Liameed Olawale Gafar, has congratulated Manu Garba, on his appointment as the new head coach of the Nigeria U17 national football team, the Golden Eaglets.  Manu Garba's first tenure as Eaglets Manager saw him handling footballers such as Taiwo Awoniyi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Isaac  Success, Francis Uzoho, Chidiebere Nwakali and Musa Muhammed to victory at the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup.   According to Hajji Gafar, he believes that this experience makes Manu Garba the ideal candidate to lead the Golden Eaglets to new heights. The coach who returns for his third stint with the team has been saddled with the responsibility of leading the current crop of players to next month's WAFU B U17 Championship which serves as qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations.
