Project Consultants Announce 40 EliteRunners for Ijebu Heritage Half Marathon

Nilayo Sports Management Limited, project consultants on Ijebu Heritage Half Marathon has announced a field of 40 elite runners for the Ijebu Heritage Half Marathon. Mr. Bukola Olopade, the Chief Executive Officer of Nilayo Sports Management Limited said “We have selected a strong field of elite runners from the World Athletics pool and we are anticipating a very competitive performance during the Ijebu Heritage Half Marathon. “The first edition of the Half Marathon will definitely be a memorable one because as project consultants, Nilayo is bringing all the expertise and excellence we are known for to the race.” Kenya’s Bernard Sang who came first at the 2020 Istanbul Marathon tops the list. Sang will look to top his Personal Best for Half Marathons which stands at 1:00:57. Kenya’s Hosea Chirchir Kiplimo, Rhonzas Lokitam Kilimo, Eliud Mewangi, Sammy Nyokaye, John Muriuri Mburi, William Amponsah, Titus Kipruto Kibiego, and Paul Koech are on the men’s list. Akwa United defender Samson Gbadebo has hailed the character of the club following their 2-0 win over Adamawa United in the Nigeria Professional Football League on Saturday.  The Promise Keepers did well to extend their lead at the top of table to four points. Charles Atshimene and Mfon Udoh were on target for the Uyo based side at the Nest of Champions. Gbadebo who still out injured praised the way Akwa United dispatched the visitors in Uyo. "We have had five massive games in the last couple of weeks," he said.  "It has been a hard programme and the lads deserve a lot of praise for that.  "This was not a 100 per cent top performance from us but we never gave in. Uche Eke , Nigeria’s only decorated male gymnast,  who won Gold at the 2019 All AfrIcan games in Morrocco on Monday, paid a courtesy visit to the African Pillar of Sports,   who is also the current Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and his family  The 2021 Margaret Mann awardee in company of the President of Gymnastics  Federation of Nigeria , Prince Kelvin Erhunwmunse was welcomed by Senator Kalu, his wife Mrs Ifunanya Kalu; children Olivia Kalu and Nicole Kalu in their Abuja residence  The 21 year old Nigerian-American Gymnast who graduated from UMSI with a 4.0 GPA May 2021, has been competing and training with Michigan Gymnastics since he first came to U-M as a freshman in 2016. Uche aims to represent Nigeria at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, postponed to July 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Since joining the Master’s of Science in Information (MSI) program, Uche said he found the support and stimulation he needed at UMSI to flourish ac
